Bio:
Born in late 2023 just steps away from the Vatican, FELDSPAR is a Rome-based hardcore band blending raw aggression, sharp social critique, and a vibrant artistic vision. Named after a mineral said to be worn by covert Roman clergy, FELDSPAR channel irony, creativity, and defiance into their sound, confronting themes of spirituality, mental health, and the modern condition.

The project was founded by Andrew Mecoli (Growing Concern), whose riffs embody Italian hardcore’s spirit, and Stefano Casanica, a veteran songwriter and producer (Undertakers, Craiving, Crude, plus the cult-classic Noyz Narcos track Non Dormire). Their collaboration set the foundation for a unique blend of hardcore ferocity and layered songwriting.

At the forefront stands Riccardo Zamurri, the imaginative frontman shaping the band’s lyrical and visual universe, alongside Anna Pasolini, whose sharp vocals and London-honed sensibility add depth. Daughter of Academy Award-winning composer Rachel Portman, Anna also carries her environmental commitment into the band’s ethos.

Completing the powerhouse rhythm section are Manlio Massimetti (bass) and Luca Micheli (drums), whose precision and intensity ground FELDSPAR’s chaotic energy.

Lyrically, FELDSPAR critique Western spirituality’s commercial drift, address environmental urgency, and explore personal psychoses with surrealist imagination. Their identity expands beyond music, weaving collaborations with artists such as producer Nick Terry (The Libertines, Turbonegro, Kvelertak), illustrator Chris Wilson (Combust, Scowl), photographer Guido Gazzilli, artist Marcello “Rise Above” Crescenzi, and illustrator Luca “Solo Macello”, famed for Salmo’s chart-topping album cover. Argentine painter Nicolas Romero further enriches their visual language.

In their unique fusion of hardcore energy, visual art, and ideological rebellion, FELDSPAR stand as one of Italy’s most promising new voices in the underground, inviting listeners into a world where sound, vision, and dissent converge.
