Bio:
Napoli Violenta was born in 2018 in the Neapolitan hinterland, created by four long-time veterans of the Neapolitan metal and hardcore punk scene, whose identities remain unknown and deliberately hidden.
From the start, the aim was to merge Poliziottesco cinema and grindcore music—two distant revolutions, one cinematic and one musical, yet united by the same cynical, infamous, and violent spirit.
Taking their name from the 1976 film Napoli Violenta directed by Umberto Lenzi, the band pays tribute to the raw atmosphere of Italian crime films and the ferocity of grindcore pioneers like Napalm Death, Terrorizer, Repulsion, Carcass, Extreme Noise Terror, and Brutal Truth. Even their logo reflects this vision, a “pezzotto” (bootleg-style art) serving both as a conceptual and sonic homage to the genre.
With sarcasm, dark humor, and a Napulenglish lyrical approach, Napoli Violenta bring together the rough edge of the streets, the legacy of Mario Merola and Pino Mauro, and the chaos of grindcore into a new form of extreme music: Grindziottesco / Crimecore.
