Bio:
Formed in Campobasso, Italy, in 2002, SAKAHITER take their name from the Oscan phrase meaning “let it be sacrificed”, a reference to the rituals of men and animals offered to the gods before battle. Rooted in the heritage of the Samnites, an ancient warrior people from Molise, Campania, and Basilicata, the band define their style as Samnite Black Metal, blending traditional black metal fury with lyrics and imagery inspired by Samnite history and mythology.

Their debut demo Lex Sacrata (2003), recorded at Temple of Noise Studios in Rome, featured cover art depicting the legendary humiliation of the Romans at the Caudine Forks. This was followed in 2005 by the 7-inch Omnes Eiura Deos, recorded at 16th Cellar Studios.

In 2021, SAKAHITER signed with Nova Era Records to release the EP Legio Linteata and reissue Lex Sacrata, further expanding their historical and ritualistic black metal vision.

On stage, the band has delivered countless powerful performances, sharing bills with extreme metal icons such as Sodom, Dismember, Onslaught, Belphegor, Master, and Necrodeath. Their music stands as both a fierce black metal assault and a tribute to the warrior spirit of their ancestors.
