Formed in Wrocław, Poland in 2013, SHODAN deliver a distinctive blend of death metal brutality, progressive structures, and cold wave-inspired melodies. Their sound combines technical precision with atmospheric depth, carving a unique identity within the European extreme metal scene.
In 2016, SHODAN released their debut LP Protocol of Dying (Defense Records / Deformeathing Production), recorded with producer Arkadiusz “Malta” Malczewski. The album’s success was reinforced by live appearances alongside Sinister, Absu, Beheaded, Rotting Christ, and performances at festivals such as Gothoom, Into the Abyss, Metalmania, and Castle Party.
Their second album, Death, Rule Over Us (2020), produced by Kuba Mańkowski (Azarath, Behemoth, Blindead), expanded SHODAN’s sound with raw organic tones and cold wave atmospheres, earning critical acclaim and confirmed by tours with Hate, Batushka (Krzysztof Drabikowski), Rotting Christ, Blood Incantation, and appearances at Summer Dying Loud.
In 2023, SHODAN signed with Time To Kill Records to release their new album, marking the next chapter in their evolution as one of Poland’s most forward-thinking death metal acts.
