Bio:
Formed in 1989 in São Paulo, Torture Squad are one of the most influential forces in the Brazilian extreme metal scene. Starting in the underground, the band’s breakthrough came with their early demo A Soul in Hell (1993), followed by acclaimed albums such as Shivering (1998), Asylum of Shadows (1999), and The Unholy Spell (2001), which cemented their reputation.

Over the years, Torture Squad have shared the stage with Overkill, Exodus, Anthrax, Slayer, Sepultura, Testament, Iron Maiden, and many others. Their relentless touring included European, South American, and Central American tours, with appearances at Wacken Open Air, Rock in Rio, and Mexico Metal Fest.

The band’s discography spans nine full-length albums, live releases, and EPs, blending death and thrash metal with unrelenting intensity. Recent works such as Far Beyond Existence (2017) and Torture Years 1993–2020 showcase their evolution and endurance, while the latest recordings continue to push their trademark brutality worldwide.

With Mayara Puertas on vocals, Rene Simionato on guitar, Castor on bass, and Amilcar Christófaro on drums, Torture Squad remain one of Brazil’s most powerful exports of death/thrash metal.
