Finnish hardcore outfit Rats Will Feast’s new album Hellhole has been in the works for a long time. Written mostly during 2021 and 2022, the band pushes their sound to even more aggressive and chaotic frontiers than their previous releases Songs of a Racehorse (2020) and single Malady (2021). The album continues the development of the bands destructive chaotic hardcore sound, mixing in a wide range of influences and ideas. On top of its crushing riffs, battering drums, weeping melodies, and screeching vocals mixed in with psycho-electric noise, Hellhole explores personal struggle, naïve anger, despair, alienation, and the desolation of modern life.
